Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Pannun has released a new video threatening to attack the Indian parliament on December 13 in response to an alleged ‘plot to assassinate’ him by an Indian official. December 13 is the anniversary of Parliament attack by terrorists in 2001.

Pannun, the leader of the pro-Khalistan Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), is quite active on social media and keeps issuing threats to India. He said that he would attack the parliament on Dec 13 to “shake its very foundations”.

According to reports in India Today and Economic Times, Pannun captioned the video “Delhi Banega Khalistan (Delhi will become Khalistan)”. The video reportedly also showed posters juxtaposing his image with Afzal Guru, who was involved in the Parliament attack and was hanged in 2013. Pannun raised the issue of Kashmir in the video and called the Kashmiri youth to join him.

This comes as Parliament’s winter session is underway and will continue till Dec 22.

Recently, the US Justice Department charged an Indian official for allegedly “plotting to kill” Pannun on US soil. The Indian government has meanwhile formed a committee to probe the allegations. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller on Tuesday said that US would wait for the outcomes of the panel formed by India and that it has taken the issue “very seriously”.

Reacting to this, Congres MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “Quite weird! While #india enquires into allegations of extra judl killings qua #pannun, how is it that ctally governed, rule of law country #USA has no laws to arrest or stop #pannun while he daily says he wl blow up indian #parliament or indian planes!!”
