There is a wealth of wisdom concerning science, health and culture in our ancient traditions. Yet many view this wisdom with skepticism, even derision. Here, we make a case for traditional healthcare systems finding their way into modern medical practice and why we must, as a nation and society, achieve this with urgency. While more research is clearly warranted, the future of integrative medicine could well be a fine blend of the modern and traditional.
Spiritual dimension | The principle that healthcare must be pluralistic is wellestablished, as is the definition that health is a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being. Into this equilibrium that the individual has established within himself, ‘the spiritual dimension’ may also play an important role.
