Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.X Performance concept, a high-performance EV transforming the automotive landscape.

Volkswagen has unveiled the much-awaited ID.X Performance concept.

The ID.GTI concept was recently unveiled by the automobile giant in the energetic city of Munich. Also, the electric ID. Buzz and the ID.3 models are getting ready for a significant transformation, due to VW’s new GTX logo.

Talking about the ID.X Performance concept, it is based on the ID.7 sedan. Also, it only shares a basic silhouette with its everyday counterpart.

In terms of design, the ID.X Performance gets a striking front-end makeover. The design highlights include a black grille at the base of the bumper. The carbon fibre diffuser, in addition to the distinctive red trim that gracefully adorns the entire vehicle, adds a touch of athletic sophistication. Besides this, it gets a pair of 20-inch alloy wheels encased in a black plastic wrap.

Moving on, the ID.X Performance features a rear spoiler at the top of the trunk lid that further gives it a bold look. The carbon fibre diffuser at the front resembles its counterpart. It is further accompanied by red accents. The ID.X Performance concept sits confidently 2.4 inches (60 millimeters) lower than its conventional ID.7 sibling, exuding an air of power and agility.

The ID.X concept is powered by Volkswagen’s adaptable MEB architecture, which serves as the basis of their cutting-edge EVs. Twin electric motors together generate a top power of 550 bhp. Furthermore, the ID.X Performance concept, like its ID.7 sibling, has a remarkable DC fast charging capacity of 200 kilowatts, allowing drivers to spend less time plugged in and more time enjoying the open road.

Volkswagen has previously teased us with the ID.7 GTX variation in the horizon, however the fate of this electrifying concept in production is yet unknown. This upcoming powerhouse promises bold accents, enhanced aerodynamics, and, hopefully, even more electrifying power.
