MS Dhoni, the ex-India captain, was spotted celebrating India’s 75th Republic Day in a video going viral on the internet. The video has been shared by his wife Sakshi who posted the same on Instagram. Dhoni can be seen looking at the tricolour which the couple reportedly unfurled at their farmhouse in Ranchi. The clip has instantly gone viral on social media with its comment section being flooded by netizens.

Notably, Dhoni maintains a distance from social media and although he has an account on these platforms, he very rarely posts on them. Fans get to know about the updates in Dhoni’s life and glimpses of him either through his wife’s Instagram account or his friends in which Dhoni features from time to time.

Dhoni Spotted At Nets Ahead Of IPL 2024

While Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, he continues to ply his trade for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL. Although there were speculations that the wicketkeeper-batter could announced his decision to quit IPL after the 2023 season, after he lifted the trophy for a record-equalling fifth time, he announced that he would come back for another year as a way of expressing gratitude to his fans.

“Circumstantially if you see, this is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year, the easy thing would be for me to say “Thank you very much”, but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back and play at least 1 more season of IPL. A lot depends on the body, I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it’s not easy for me but that’s a gift. The way they’ve shown their love and affection, I think that’s something I need to do for them,” he told presenter Harsha Bhogle at the post-match presentation after CSK beat Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmebad in a last-ball thriller in IPL 2023 final.

Post the conclusion of the season, Dhoni underwent a knee surgery and was spotted practicing at the nets, gearing up for a hectic season of the IPL ahead.
