ICC World Test Championship Points Table (Updated) after BAN vs NZ 1st Test: Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by a margin of 150 runs on Day 5 of BAN vs NZ 1st Test match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh secured the second position in ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table following their inaugural Test victory against New Zealand on home turf. As of now, Pakistan holds the top position in the World Test Championship points table, having earned 24 points from two Test matches and maintaining a perfect points percentage of 100%.

After the landmark victory over New Zealand in BAN vs NZ 1st Test, Bangladesh has accumulated 12 points in World Test Championship points table, achieving a points percentage of 100 (PCT). Tim Southee-led New Zealand will be aiming for a comeback in the second match of BAN vs NZ Test series, set to begin on December 6 in Dhaka.

In the World Test Championship points table, India currently holds the third position with 16 points and a points percentage (PCT) of 66.67, followed by Australia in the fourth spot with 18 points and points percentage of 30.

Bangladesh beat New Zealand by 150 runs in BAN vs NZ 1st Test

Batting first, Bangladesh posted 310 runs vs New Zealand. In reply, Kane Williamson’s fluent 104 runs off 205 deliveries helped the Kiwis reach 317 runs, taking a 7-run lead in the first innings. However, in the second innings, New Zealand were bowled out for 181 runs, suffering a 150-run loss.

In the previous World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle, Bangladesh had a poor run, winning just one out of 12 Test matches. On the other hand, New Zealand finished sixth in the previous WTC 2021-23 cycle, securing four wins out of 13 Tests and drew three games.
