Union Minister Vaishnaw flags off Mau-Mumbai express, connecting hearts & industries. Transformative rail upgrades herald a new era in connectivity.

Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, kickstarted the much-anticipated direct train service between Mau and Mumbai.

This groundbreaking initiative, celebrated during the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, promises to revolutionize travel and connectivity for the residents of the Mau region.

Addressing the gathering through a dynamic video conferencing session, Minister Vaishnaw conveyed his heartiest wishes for Chhath Puja and extended congratulations to the people of Mau on the inauguration of the Mau-Mumbai express service.

Highlighting the personal significance of this development, he shared that a substantial Rs 17,507 crore had been set aside in the budget for the expansion and enhancement of railway infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh for the fiscal year 2023-24.

The Railway Minister underscored the sheer scale of Uttar Pradesh, with ongoing railway projects amounting to an awe-inspiring Rs 98,000 crore. Anticipating the state’s future rail traffic demands for the next half-century, Minister Vaishnaw revealed that redevelopment work is underway for 156 stations, including the heart of it all, Mau Junction, promising a significant positive change for daily commuters.

Mau’s railway station, a key player in this transformative endeavor, is set for a spectacular makeover. Minister Vaishnaw invited public input, stating, “If you want to give suggestions for improving this design, you are welcome.” This participatory approach underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

U.P Urban Development Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma, sharing the excitement at the Mau railway station alongside other community leaders, joyously announced the beginning of the new Mau-Mumbai train service (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus). Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Sharma highlighted the relief this direct train brings to the people, particularly benefiting Mau’s close-knit community and its famed textile industry.

The event, orchestrated by General Manager Soumya Mathur and skillfully conducted by Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, marked the dawn of a new era in rail connectivity for Mau.
