Console games are finally starting to come to mobile platforms.

Death Stranding is coming soon for Apple’s Macs and iPads powered by the M-series silicon, and the new iPhone 15 Pro models powered by the A17 Pro chipset.

If you own an Apple iPhone 15 Pro model and have been craving to experience Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, a game that was initially exclusive to the PlayStation platform, you are in luck. Apple’s Macs and iPads powered by the M-series silicon, and the new iPhone 15 Pro models powered by the A17 Pro chipset, will be capable of running the game upon its launch later this month.

The game is presently available for pre-order on the Apple App Store for Rs 1,999 in India and $19.99 US dollars in the United States. It will be available to play from January 31st of this month. A single purchase grants access to play across multiple devices, such as an iPad, Mac, or iPhone.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut has been a long time coming on the iPhone 15 Pro and was first announced at the Apple WWDC 2023 event as a push to explore and utilise the power of Apple M-series silicon.

The game itself is set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by BTs, and the world has to rely on ‘porters’ such as Sam Bridges, the main protagonist, to receive essentials like medicine and more. The game world is connected, and you can see many structures that other players have built.

While some may label it a walking simulator, the game is rich in lore, has memorable characters, gameplay that will make you think outside the box, and a story that becomes quite memorable and thought-provoking once you get the hang of things.

The game is also cross-platform compatible, meaning the same user can share save data and play between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. In addition, it also features a photo mode and collaboration content with Valve’s ‘Half-Life’ and CD Projekt Red’s ‘Cyberpunk 2077.’
