A PTI report has emerged, stating when the date for India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad announcement will be revealed.
India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad will be announced sometime during the last week of April, PTI reported.
“The Indian team will be selected some time during the last week of April, the time by which the first half of IPL will be over and national selection committee will be in a position to assess form and fitness of the contenders,” a BCCI source close to the proceedings informed PTI.
Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee will have a clear understanding of the form and fitness levels of potential contenders for India’s T20 World Cup national team, by the halfway point of IPL 2024.
The report claims that some players will fly to New York immediately after the end of league stage games on May 19.
Players representing teams that advance to the IPL 2024 playoffs, comprising the final four teams, will depart for New York once the playoffs conclude.
Rohit Sharma-led team India will play all their group matches in the USA. India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign begins on June 5 against Ireland in New York.
