Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has garnered immense adoration from the nation, receiving praise from all quarters after his remarkable performances in the first two India vs England Test matches. However, the star pacer appeared unamused by the attention and took a significant swipe at fans in a dramatic Instagram story post. Bumrah shared a story on the app, alluding to the absence of support during his challenging days.

Jasprit Bumrah delivered an exceptional performance against England in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series in Visakhapatnam. The 30-year-old claimed a total of nine wickets, playing a crucial role in India’s victory by 106 runs on February 5, levelling the series at 1-1. This outstanding performance propelled him to the top spot in the ICC’s Test bowlers’ rankings, marking him as the first Indian fast bowler to achieve this feat. Bumrah took to social media to emphasise the idea that performers often find themselves in solitude, with others only arriving to offer their congratulations.

In a story shared by Bumrah on his official Instagram handle, a picture portrays a lone man seated in an empty stadium juxtaposed with another image depicting a crowded stadium. This photo signifies the difference between minimal support during challenging times and the numerous individuals present to extend their congratulations during moments of achievement

Here’s What Jasprit Bumrah Shared On His Instagram Story:

Bumrah’s Splendid Return To International Cricket

Bumrah has been in exceptional form since his return to international cricket last year. He emerged as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the 2023 World Cup, securing 20 wickets in 11 matches with a remarkable economy of 4.06. Subsequently, he clinched the Player of the Series (POTS) Award in the two-match series in South Africa, where India managed to draw the series for the first time in history.

In the ongoing series, Bumrah leads as the highest wicket-taker, having taken 15 wickets in two matches so far. Before his comeback in August last year, Bumrah endured almost a year on the sidelines due to a stress fracture in his back, which necessitated surgery. Throughout his period of inactivity, the star Indian pacer became a target of social media trolling for his pronness to injuries.
