After facing challenges with form and a recurring back-related issue, the 29-year-old Iyer was absent from India’s squad for the last three Tests against England with several reports claiming that he had been dropped. Consequently, he also missed Mumbai’s quarterfinal match, along with all-rounder Shivam Dube.
