After facing backlash on social media, food delivery aggregator Zomato has dropped its plan for a ‘pure-veg’ ground fleet of delivery partners who would have been easily identifiable by their green uniforms. Taking to X on Wednesday, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal said the company had decided to “remove the on-ground segregation of this fleet on the ground using the colour green”. “This will ensure that our red uniform delivery partners are not incorrectly associated with non-veg food, and blocked by any RWAs or societies during any special days,” he wrote in the X post.
