As the anticipation for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 is increasing, so are the rumours that are doing rounds on the internet. According to rumours. Nintendo might unveil a successor to its popular Switch console later this year. As per a new prediction by Omdia analyst Hiroshi Hayase, it could launch in 2024 with an 8-inch LCD screen, representing a sizable increase over the previous 6.2-inch and 7-inch displays found on the original Switch and Switch OLED models respectively.

According to a Bloomberg report, Hayase based his forecast on supply chain research which was focused on small and medium-sized displays. As per the report, he believes that the demand from Nintendo for larger screens that are suitable for a Switch successor will lead to shipments of amusement displays doubling next year.

Notably, neither Nintendo nor its partners have yet officially commented even on the existence of Switch 2 but, as per Bloomberg, Hayase is not the only one to predict the release of Switch 2 in 2024.

The speculations around a new Nintendo platform have been going on and on for many months. Signs have pointed to the launch of Switch 2 this year. Additionally, there are several reports as per which Nintendo privately showcased the Switch 2 to developers at Gamescom 2023.

Nintendo Switch 2 Specs (Expected)

As of now, the details and specs are unclear and also contrary to each other. Some leaks suggested that it will feature a new Nvidia Tegra processor, while others expect it to come with an 8nm chipset from Samsung rather than a 5nm node.

The Switch 2 is likely to support 4K visuals and will run at 60 frames per second which is a significant boost as compared to the original Switch’s max 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second target.

Fans eagerly await the next generation of Nintendo’s gaming device. An official word from Nintendo is yet to be made before getting a bit too excited.
