Base Variant Features

As per the spy images, it seems like the company might cut some of the features from the base trim, making it more affordable to the target audience. The production model might not come with any rear washer and wiper and no alloy spare wheel as shown in the leaked images. If some records are to be believed, the four-wheeler is expected to not offer rear disc breaks. Instead, it will be treated with drum breaks.

Mid and Top Trim

When it comes to the mid and top trim, the customers can expect all the features and elements, which has been lacking in the base trim. To attract more customers, some additional features are likely to be included such as an improved touchscreen infotainment system, supported by all wireless car connect technology, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control with AC vents at the back, and push button start/stop among others.

Engine and Expected Price

Under the hood, the 5-door Thar will use the same engine option as the current 3-door version. It will powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The former will be equipped with 2-litre turbo, while the latter will be treated with a 2.2-litre unit. As far as the price range is concerned, it might cost 15 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards for the base trim.
