Kia unveils a strikingly revamped Carnival MPV with sleek design, high-tech features, and potent powertrains, raising the bar for family vehicles.

Kia has officially taken the wraps off the facelifted version of its fourth-generation Carnival MPV.

After tantalizing automotive enthusiasts with sneak peeks of its exterior design, the Korean automaker has finally divulged the complete details of this eye-catching vehicle. Bookings have now opened in Korea, sending waves of excitement through the automotive world.

The new Carnival boasts a design that stands in stark contrast to the KA4 MPV showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Its makeover includes a more upright front fascia, a wide grille adorned with chrome accents, and striking L-shaped headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps. A sleek bumper design features a small lower air intake surrounded by a faux brushed aluminum skid plate, adding a dash of sportiness.

The L-shaped design elements continue at the rear, where the tail-lamps are connected by a mesmerizing LED light bar. The rear bumper is a harmonious blend of matte black and chrome accents, enhancing the vehicle’s overall aesthetic appeal.

The facelifted Carnival rolls on either 19-inch alloys or 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on the powertrain choice. The wheel designs draw inspiration from the latest models in the Kia lineup, such as the EV5 and EV9, while hybrid variants sport the smaller 18-inch wheels.

With seating configurations available for 4, 7, and 9 passengers, the Carnival takes the interior experience up several notches. An impressive curved infotainment unit stretches across the driver’s side of the dashboard, boasting two 12.3-inch screens – one serving as a digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment hub.

Enhanced controls for the air conditioning and audio systems, a rotary drive selector, front and rear dash cameras, a heads-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and a cutting-edge digital key are just a few of the premium features you can expect. As an exciting bonus, the vehicle can even be started with your fingerprint.

Kia has further refined the infotainment system to offer better support for over-the-air updates, upgraded cabin materials for superior sound insulation, and improved ride comfort through tweaks to the shock absorbers. Additionally, an optional 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen is available to ensure passengers stay entertained during the journey.

When it comes to safety, the updated Carnival is a force to be reckoned with. It comes equipped with an enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, and a host of other cutting-edge features. International models also come standard with eight airbags for added peace of mind.

Under the hood, the Carnival offers a choice of three powertrains: a potent 3.5-litre petrol engine, a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter petrol hybrid, and a robust 2.2-litre diesel powerplant. The hybrid variant, in particular, impresses with a total output of 245 bhp and 367Nm, promising a thrilling driving experience.

For Indian enthusiasts, Kia’s India boss confirmed earlier this year that the new Carnival is on its way. “We don’t want old styles to come to the India market. We want the best, newest model to premiere here,” he stated, teasing the arrival of this exceptional MPV.

In the fiercely competitive MPV market, the Carnival sits comfortably between the Toyota Innova and the Vellfire, with no direct rivals daring to challenge its dominance.
