Union Minister Nitin Gadkari virtually launched ‘Classic Imperial,’ the grandest tourist vessel in Kerala, promising an unmatched luxury cruise.

In his speech, the Minister highlighted the vast potential of cruise tourism in India, particularly in the scenic Kerala. Plans are underway to seek increased support from the banking sector to boost vessel construction.

The ‘Classic Imperial’ is a striking symbol of professionalism, innovation, and the unwavering spirit of entrepreneur Nishijith K John. Minister Gadkari, impressed by Nishijith’s dedication, extended an invitation for ventures in Maharashtra’s vessel construction.

Kerala’s ‘Classic Imperial’ Cruise: What’s On Offer?

This mega tourist vessel, the largest in Kerala, accommodates 150 passengers and boasts dimensions of 50 meters in length, 11 meters in width, and 10 meters in height. It holds Indian Registrar of Shipping (IRS) safety certification.

The ‘Classic Imperial’ is designed to host a variety of events, from weddings to corporate conferences, offering amenities like centralized AC, DJ booths, open baths, a dining area, a spacious hall, green room, and a lounge.

The vessel’s construction journey, initiated in March 2020 by Nishijith K John, Managing Director of Neo Classic Cruises and Tours Pvt Ltd, is an inspiring tale of determination.

Starting in the backwater tourism sector with a rented boat, Nishijith set up a construction center on Cochin Port land, rented at Rs1.20 lakh per month. Despite a slowdown during the Covid period, the ‘Classic Imperial’ now stands as a testament to perseverance and innovation.
