Jagannath Heritage Corridor: Jagannath Heritage Corridor has recently taken center stage with the impending inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir and the sacred consecration of Ramlala’s idol on January 22, 2024. However, preceding the consecration ceremony of Ramlala by five days, the Jagannath Heritage Corridor at the renowned Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is set to be unveiled today, Wednesday, January 17.

Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Project:

Reportedly, around 943 crores INR have been invested in constructing the Jagannath Heritage Corridor, a key initiative championed by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the Biju Janata Dal. Scheduled for inauguration on Wednesday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will lead the unveiling of this substantial project.

The Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation have completed this project, officially handing it over to the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration. A 75-metre wide corridor has been built around the external walls of the temple, named Meghanad Pateria, and a 2-kilometre Shrimandir Parikrama Rath has been constructed around the temple, allowing devotees to have direct darshan inside the temple.

Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Invitation:

Devotees from all over the country have gathered for its inauguration. Invitations have been sent to nearly thousand temples from India and Nepal to grafce the occasion. In addition, invitations were also extended to all Shankaracharyas, and the King of Nepal has also been invited by the temple administration.

Meanwhile, the Jagannath Temple, nestled in the heart of Puri, Odisha, stands as a venerable dedication to Lord Jagannath, accompanied by his divine siblings Balaram and Subhadra. Recognised as the ‘Shrimandir Parikrama Project,’ the Heritage Corridor is an ambitious initiative that not only adds to the grandeur of the temple but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding areas.
