Ind Vs Aus Final: IAF Aerobatic Team Performs Flypast Rehearsal Over Ahemdabad Stadium — WATCH

The Indian Air Force (IAF)’s Surya Kiran aerobatic team performed air show rehearsal at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Saturday. The IAF team will carry out a flypast over the venue of the ICC Cricket World Cup final, ahead of the title clash, on Sunday (November 19).

The Suryakiran aerobatic team usually comprises nine aircraft and has performed numerous air shows in the country. Air Force officials told ANI that just like in any other sporting event such as the Formula One racing, the Suryakiran Team will be in Ahmedabad to carry out a flypast. The aerobatic team will enthrall people for 10 minutes before the start of the final match.

“As of now, an air show has been planned ahead of the final match, for which a rehearsal was held over the stadium on Friday,” Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) spokesperson Jagat Patel said. 

The hallmark of their demonstration is loop manoeuvres in victory formation, barrel roll manoeuvres, and forming various shapes in the sky using aircraft.

India reached the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup after beating New Zealand by 70 runs. It will lock horns with Australia on Sunday for the final match. This will be India’s fourth appearance in the World Cup summit clash, whereas Australia will be playing their eighth final. Out of the three finals played by the Men in Blue so far, they have managed to win twice, whereas the Aussies have won five World Cup final matches so far out of those played.

The World Cup Final on Sunday will be a repeat of the 2003 World Cup Final, which was played in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Australia steamrolled India to win cricket’s ultimate title. In 2003, Ricky Ponting-led Australia defeated Sourav Ganguly’s team by 125 runs.
