‘Ghulami Ki Mansikta’: Assam CM Defends Kangana Ranaut’s Remark Calling Netaji Bose ‘India’s First PM’

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday defended actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut’s assertion that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was the first Prime Minister of the country. Coming Out in the defence of the actor, Sarma said Netaji had established the Azad Hind government four years before Jawaharlal Nehru had become the Prime Minister which was recognised by nine countries.

In a post on social media platform X, the Assam CM said, ”To those mocking @KanganaTeam – On 21 October 1943, Netaji established the Azad Hind Govt, of which he was the head, nearly 4 years before Pt Nehru took oath as Prime Minister following transfer of power”. ”Nine countries recognised the Azad Hind Govt as the legitimate Government of India. This subconscious urge to interpret history on the lines of colonialists is called ‘Ghulami ki Mansikta”, he further stated.

Kangana Ranuat, the BJP candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, stirred a heated debate with her recent remark concerning Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Speaking at the Times Now Summit, Kangana made a surprising declaration, referring to Netaji as independent India’s first Prime Minister. The snippet from her interview swiftly circulated across social media platforms, garnering significant attention after being shared by prominent political personalities.viral on social media on Friday. 

Kangana’s statement regarding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s role in India’s post-independence era sparked a flurry of reactions and debates online, prompting questions about the accuracy of her historical claims.

Following the social media uproar, Kangana took to Instagram Stories to share an article clipping highlighting Subhash Chandra Bose’s self-declaration as the Prime Minister of Azad Hind in 1943. Accompanying the post, she wrote, “Some general knowledge for beginners.”
