Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has been listed as one of the busiest airports worldwide. As per the details shared by the Airports Council International (ACI) World, which assesses and measures the airport standard, has ranked the IGI as tenth, marking it as the busiest airport in the world.

The report also revealed that the IGI has handled more than 7.22 crore annually, contributing a big chunk to the aviation industry. When it comes to the top ten busiest airports, the five spots have been taken by the airports from the United States, out of which Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport shines at the top.

It has been reported that the airport has welcomed over 10.46 crore flyers in a year, securing the top position in the list.  Amid this, Tokyo’s Haneda airport is considered the top performer as it was ranked 16th in 2022, and now it took 5th position in 2023.

Meanwhile, the IGI in 2022 received the ninth spot in the category, 13th in 2021, and 17th in 2019. The development and the graph clearly show that the IGI has evolved over the years, welcoming more flyers on board.
