In a staggering incident, a 26-year old woman was discovered stuffed inside an almirah at a house in southwest Delhi’s Dwaraka region, the police stated on Thursday, news agency PTI reported. The victim’s father alleged the hand of the “live-in partner” behind the murder of his daughter.

After not being able to contact her daughter for few days, victim’s father approached police on Wednesday. Following the call from the father stating that his daughter could be murdered, the police dispatched a team from Dabri police station to the said location in Dwaraka.

“Upon entering the flat, the body of the woman was found in the almirah of a room. The crime scene was inspected by the crime team and FSL,” said a senior police officer was quoted as saying by PTI in its report.

According to the police, the deceased’s father who was present at the spot, claimed that his daughter was murdered by her live-in partner Vipal Tailor. The body of the victim has been transferred to DDU Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

In reference to his last call with the woman, the complainant informed the police that his daughter had told him that her partner Vipal Tailor used to beat her up and she was afraid she could be killed.

He also told the police that his daughter had been living in the rented flat with Vipal Tailor for the past one and a half months.

“Efforts are underway to locate the accused, Vipal Tailor, who is a native of Surat in Gujarat,” the officer said.

“Based on the statement of the complainant, a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused,” he said, adding that police teams are also going through CCTV cameras in the area to find out the crime sequence.
