COP28: Climate change has devastating impacts on the Earth’s ecosystems, and has brought the planet to the point where even small changes can trigger catastrophic events in certain regions. The point at which a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enough to cause a larger, more important change is called a tipping point, according to the University of Exeter’s Global Systems Institute. A tipping point can also be defined as a point where a small change makes a big difference to a system, which could be any group of interacting or interrelated things that act according to a shared set of rules to form a recognisable, unified whole. In other words, a system is a group of commonly related things which act together in such a way that they serve as an amalgamated entity.
