Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by a Delhi Court on Saturday in a case related to the excise policy. The court instructed him to furnish a bond of Rs 15,000 after complaints were lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) alleging his failure to comply with issued summons.
Kejriwal made an appearance at the Rouse Avenue Court, facing accusations of disregarding summonses from the investigative agency. Security measures were heightened outside the court premises.
Earlier on Thursday, Kejriwal had moved the Sessions Court to contest the summonses issued by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate following complaints from the ED. These complaints pertained to his purported non-compliance with summonses in connection with the Delhi liquor policy money laundering case.

Kejriwal subsequently agreed to cooperate with the ED, scheduling his appearance in the excise policy case for after March 12.
This decision followed the ED’s eighth summons, which was issued to him on February 27. Kejriwal has responded to the Enforcement Directorate’s communication, asserting the summons’ legality while indicating his willingness to provide answers. He has asked for a hearing date after March 12.
Kejriwal previously ignored seven summons issued by the ED on February 26, February 19, February 2, January 18, January 3, November 2, and December 22, dismissing them as “illegal and politically motivated”.
