New Delhi: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be opened to the general public from Tuesday (January 23). Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple town daily for the ‘darshan’ of Ram Lalla.

Earlier in the day, the much-awaited Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla was held in Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the rituals in the newly built temple. PM Modi unveiled the idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum at the temple.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present.

The inauguration of Ram temple holds a significant religious moment as Hindus believe Ayodhya to be the birthplace of Lord Ram and the building of the temple, after a prolonged wait of 500 years, has been heralded as Ram returning to his rightful place.

Starting from Tuesday, a ritual for the worship of Ram Lalla has been established under the code name “Shri Ramopasana.”

Here’s All About The Rituals-

  • Preparations for worship and adornment of Lord Ram will commence from 3 am every morning.
  • During the Bramha Muhurta, between 3 am and 4 am, there will be cleaning, worship, and adornment of the sanctum sanctorum.
  • Between 3:30 and 4 am, both deities will be awakened with mantras. After this, there will be Mangala Aarti.
  • Subsequently, there will be the consecration and adornment of the idols and offering of bhog.
  • Shringar Aarti will follow from 4:30 to 5 am.
  • Darshan for the general public will begin at 8 am.
  • In the afternoon, around 1 pm, there will be the Bhog Aarti. Darshan will be closed from 1 pm to 3 pm. During this time, Lord Ram will rest.
  • Darshan will resume from 3 pm and will continue until 10 pm.
  • Evening Aarti will be held at 7 pm.
