Assembly Elections 2023 Live: Hello and welcome to Assembly Elections 2023 Live Blog, please follow this space for all the latest updates on Assembly polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram. On Tuesday, the first phase of polling took place in Chhattisgarh on 20 seats out of the 90-member Legislative Assembly.

Congress and BJP held rallies yesterday in poll-bound states and attacked each other fiercely. While launching an attack on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, she said, “You (people) voted for ‘Mama ji’ repeatedly, but when you faced any trouble and questioned them (Government) about the inflation and unemployment, resources for education and health; they only replied by saying that he (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) is your ‘Mama’.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna said, “Congress has no roadmap for the development of Madhya Pradesh. The youth of the state sees no future in Congress. The state has faith in the guarantees given by Modi. Har guarantee ki poori hone ki guarantee.” PM Modi also alleged that the Congress is allied with foreigners who openly conspire against India. The Prime Minister said, “You elected the strong BJP Government that makes tough and big decisions in the national interest. Congress has been unable to digest this for the past 10 years. They are unable to digest how is Modi able to work – the Modi whom they abuse day and night. So, Congress wants to spread instability and anarchy in the country. For this, it has struck secret deals. Congress can be seen standing with people abroad who openly conspire against India.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah who was addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur said that he is confident of Congress’ defeat. Shah said, “In Chhattisgarh, the first phase is over. Last night, I had a meeting in Raipur. Congress will be wiped off here. It is definite that in the coming days, the BJP is going to form the government here.”

Polling in three states i.e, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana is yet to take place.

Voting in Rajasthan will begin on November 25 for its 200-member Legislative Assembly, and polling for the 230-member MP Legislative Assembly will be done on November 17. Voters in Telangana will seat the fate of their candidates on November 30. All three polls mentioned above will be held in a single phase and the counting of votes will be done on December 3.
