Apple will sell the Vision pro headset in select markets from 2024 for a price tag well over Rs 2.50 lakh for buyers.

Apple is going to make the Vision Pro headset available in select countries from early 2024 and before that the company wants its store employees to get an in-depth knowledge about the product. A new media report claims Apple will have a secret product training event for select store employees who will be trained about the Vision Pro headset before they handle the store demands when the product is sold at the Apple Store from next year.

The report by Bloomberg also mentions that Apple will have an interview round to decide which of the store employees will be flown down to Cupertino, California during the early months of 2024.

These employees will be given all the details and complex procedures of using the Vision Pro headset. Once they are back to their respective stores, they will be entrusted with teaching about the products and share their learnings from Apple’s training in Cupertino.

The company is hoping that it will have at least two people from the staff at retail stores get to train at the headquarters. Going by these timelines to train for the Vision Pro headset, it is unlikely that Apple will have the product available in the first few months of 2024.

The same report also talks about Apple’s preference to set up dedicated hands-on areas at the Apple Stores like the Apple BKC in Mumbai but mostly limited to its flagship retail stores in the US for the first phase of the product.

Apple showcased the Vision Pro headset at the WWDC 2023 keynote earlier this year, and Apple CEO Tim Cook has talked about using the device to watch his favourite Apple TV+ shows, hinting at the versatility of the headset. It is expected to be available in the US initially for a hefty price tag of $3499 (Rs 2.88 lakh approx).
