Apple got over 1.8 lakh pre-orders for the Vision Pro headset which is now available but some people are done using the device and want their money back.

Apple launched the Vision Pro headset with a lot of fanfare and reports say the company got pre-orders of over 2 lakh units for the device. The headset was available from February 2 in the market for select buyers and most people loved its experience and fascinated others as to how the new tech actually works and looks in real life.

But it seems the early excitement and craze for the product has ended with many Vision Pro buyers returning the device and getting a full refund for buying the $3,499 headset. Some of the people who bought the headset have talked about the discomfort caused by the device, with some of them even facing issues like headache and motion sickness, while some feel it is priced too high.

The return of the Vision Pro headset has been made possible thanks to the 14-day return policy offered by Apple to the buyers, and it seems they are fully making use of the window to first buy the product, use it for over a week and then head back to the nearest Apple Store and return the device to get the full money refunded.

Most virtual reality (VR) headsets over the years have faced these health issues, so it is understandable that a first-gen Mixed reality (XR) headset also has these problems. However, most of the headsets don’t cost over $3,000 (Rs 2.40 lakh approx) which makes it imperative that Apple’s product is better if not at a different level compared to its rivals. People who tried the Vision Pro faced discomfort after wearing it for just 10 minutes.

There is no doubting that Apple’s vision with the headset is more tuned for the future and even the platform showcases promise. But the high price tag will invariably come into the equation for the buyer, which explains these stories of people returning the headset before the refund window ends.

The company has a rigid policy for who can and cannot use the headset, which means people need to be aware of their compatibility and decide to spend their money once that is confirmed.
