Apple is all set to host its ‘Scary Fast’ event on October 30 (October 31, 5:30 am IST in India), and as the event draws near, speculation about what to expect is on the rise. The event is expected to be Mac-centric, now that Apple has already launched the iPhone 15 series last month in September.

First off, reports suggest that this event won’t feature new iPads, as Apple did not update the lineup as previously rumored. New iMac with M3 Chipset

The 24-inch iMac hasn’t seen a refresh in over two years since its launch in 2021 alongside the M1 chipset. The shift to the M3 chipset is expected to breathe new life into the 24-inch iMac. Although the M1 chipset remains competent, a newer and more powerful chipset like Apple’s M3 could be ideal for an upgrade. If Apple indeed adopts the M3 chipset, it would mean skipping the M2 series for the iMac.

Additionally, as noted by MacRumors, the new iMac might also see a few improvements to its stand, as per Mark Gurman. However, aside from these changes, it’s expected to offer a similar design, screen, and size to the outgoing iMac model.

New MacBook Pro—14-inch and 16-inch

It’s unclear what other updates Apple might introduce with the new releases besides performance gains. Shift to USB-C for Accessories

With the iPhone 15 series now shifted to USB-C, Apple might transition its accessories like the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and the Magic Keyboard to USB-C. Currently, these accessories still ship with the Lightning connector, and having USB-C would help Apple users use a single USB-C cable to charge all of their gadgets and accessories.
