Apple Co-founder Wozniak Hospitalised After Suffering From Stroke: Report – News18

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was admitted to a Mexico City hospital on Wednesday after experiencing stroke symptoms, according to media reports.

The 73-year-old tech entrepreneur was scheduled to attend a World Business Forum event in the Santa Fe district of the Mexican capital on Wednesday afternoon.

As per Reuters, Wozniak was scheduled to address the conference on 4:20 PM local time. World Business Forum organisers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to US media outlet TMZ, the Apple co-founder who is worth $100 million, resisted, saying he would be okay, but his wife persisted and ultimately made him rush to the hospital.

While doctors are performing tests on Wozniak, a team of his staff are flying from the US to Mexico City on a private jet, to check on him and, if required, fly him back to the US for further treatment. According to TMZ, Wozniak may have experienced vertigo.

In 1976, Steve Wozniak teamed up with his more well-known business partner Steve Jobs to establish Apple Computer. Their venture revolutionized personal computing, paving the way for Apple’s rise to prominence as the world’s most valuable company.

Apple is renowned for its innovative designs and functional consumer electronics, including laptops, desktop computers, and the ubiquitous iPhone. Representatives of Wozniak’s website, woz.org, were unavailable for immediate comment.

After leaving Apple, Wozniak started a company called Wheels of Zeus that made educational software. He also taught at colleges and helped others with his money.

Wozniak has won many awards for his work with computers, including the National Medal of Technology and Innovation and the Turing Award. He is also in the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the California Hall of Fame.
