The Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya was a star-studded affair. Several celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Ranbir Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, graced the event in their traditional suits. While the event was in itself grand, one cannot simply overlook Alia Bhatt’s stunning ensemble. She donned an ornate saree with stunning motif designs that reflect the story of Ramayan. Indeed, an ideal pick for the occasion!

Alia’s ensemble was composed of the finest silk fabric in a captivating turquoise-blue hue from the shelves of Madhurya Creations. It emanated a regal look in the drape, which was embellished with a subtle interplay of gold thread. Her stylist Ami Patel, gave us a closer look at the stunning outfit and shared glimpses of how it was made. Describing the epic piece, the stylist mentioned that the motifs on the saree depicted some of the important scenes from the Ramayan.

These include “The breaking of the Shiva Dhanush, King Dasharathas promise, in the boat with Guha, the golden deer, the kidnapping, the Ram Setu, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita and the Rama Pattabishek.”

She added, “These miniature paintings were done in a traditional “Pattachitra” style and took 100 hours to complete on time for this momentous occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.” The stylist shared a few snaps of the scenes being handpainted on the drape with bright colours.

Alia made her look stand out by matching her saree with a stunning blouse with a scoop neckline. But the true show stealer was a lavish shawl in a richer shade of blue, neatly thrown over her left shoulder. Alia accessorised with a pair of dazzling drop earrings, which added the perfect punch of colour to her look. A potli bag made of the same material as her saree rounded out her flawless look. Alia made an excellent choice when she donned gold-toned shoes that complemented the gold accent on her saree, resulting in a professional and harmonious look.

For the event in Ayodhya, she opted for minimal makeup, allowing her natural beauty to shine through. Her modest yet sophisticated makeup went perfectly with her traditional attire. Alia Bhatt was accompanied by her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, who chose to wear an all-white outfit to complement her. Keeping with his classic all-white suit, he added a touch of elegance by wrapping himself in an immaculate white shawl.
